Companies House data for procurement

Companies House is the UK’s official register of companies. It holds company status, registered address, directors, filing history, and more. For procurement and contractor due diligence, that data is essential — but checking it manually for every supplier is slow. We use the Companies House API and streaming service so you get a single, up-to-date view in every report.

What we use from Companies House

We connect to the official Companies House API and, for live monitoring, the streaming API. For each company we use: profile (name, status, incorporation date, registered address, SIC codes), officers and directors, disqualified officers (where applicable), and filing history including accounts and confirmation statements. We combine this with HSE enforcement data so you see both corporate and safety risk in one place.

Why it matters for contractor checks

Before you engage a contractor or supplier, you typically need to confirm they’re a legitimate, active company; that key people aren’t disqualified; and that they’re filing on time. Companies House is the source of truth for all of that in the UK (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland). By pulling this data into our risk engine, we give you a consistent contractor due diligence report — and when you add companies to a watch list, we use streaming and bulk data to alert you to changes as they happen.

Licensing and coverage

Company information is provided by Companies House and used under the Open Government Licence v3.0. It covers all companies registered with Companies House. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Companies House; we use the data to power our check and supplier risk management services.
